If your property is located in a region that observes daylight savings, then you may notice small slivers of traded energy in the property overview chart.

It’s an interesting quirk of the Australian Energy market, that it always uses Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), and does not observe daylight savings time (known as AEDT). During daylight savings, the local time shifts one hour forwards, so 1am in AEDT, is actually midnight in AEST. So when Powertracer processes your trades for the day finishing at midnight, trades between midnight and 1am show up in the property overview chart on the next day.

In the example below, trades have been processed for all of Monday 10th November, but also 1 hour of trades for Tuesday 11th November due to the time shift:

This is completely normal, and when daylight savings is not in operation, these small slivers won’t appear anymore.
