This is called a peer-to-peer trade. To set this up, watch our video tutorial or follow the instructions below.

The buyer or seller navigates to the Trade Rules page, then in the peer-to-peer trades section, just clicks on the green "Propose New Trade” button.

A new screen appears:

Here you need to:

  1. select whether you are buying or selling energy,

  2. identify the trade point you are selling from (most of us have just one),

  3. set your price,

  4. enter the email address of the person you want to trade with (if you are creating a trade rule between your own properties simply enter your email address used in the platform)

  5. click on the "Submit" button.

Powertracer then sends a message to the other party asking if they want to accept your trade proposal.

To accept or reject your trade proposal the other party needs to:

  1. Log into the Powertracer platform

  2. When logged in they will see a red number on the notification bell in the top right hand corner of the screen indicating there is a new notification for them.

  3. Click on the notification bell and that will open a new screen as below:

To accept the trade proposal they now need to:

  1. Click on the arrow next to the Accept button to choose the property and meter they will be trading from.

  2. If the proposed trade is not agreeable to the other party they can reject the trade proposal by simply clicking the Reject button.

  3. When the proposed trade is accepted it appears in the list of agreed peer-to-peer trades and will be active in the 30 minute interval after the time of acceptance.

When creating a new peer-to-peer trade rule, or changing anything about an existing peer-to-peer trade rule for a property you manage, Powertracer will notify you via email with a link to the trade rule.
